"And if we died right now,And while sitting at my computer, chatting with my friend Mark (who fell in love with the Pumpkins on the basis of that line while totally out of his mind in the backseat of my Dodge Intrepid-stocked-with-subwoofer), I had no other reaction than sitting back in my chair, shaking my head...and typing the word "DAAAAMMNNNN!" Because, seriously, DAAAAMMNNNN.
this fool you love somehow,
is here with you."
I had one of those days where I just sat in front of my computer clicking on a lot of the old music from my life...remembering how fucking spectacular some of these songs are.
Then I switched over to the Beatles...
"You tell me that you've got everything you want
And your bird can sing
But you don't get me"
Honestly, I'm someone who doesn't hear and doesn't give a rat's ass about lyrics. This is why I could never appreciate Bob Dylan, and why I'm able to bear some other types of music. For example, M's suggestion of The Veils - Nux Vomica was a very good one - unless you listen to what the singer is saying, upon which you want to smack him in the face. I would post it here, but for some reason...I'm able to post pictures, videos, and write in Hindi, but not post a song.
Sometimes I just love the fuck out of some music. Admittedly, I have major lapses in taste, but I still love every minute of those terrible terrible songs.
I would engage in the normal self-involved and invariably unread discussions about politics, the economy, or the financial system...but I'm not sure what to say except that things are very very scary. Really. I find myself increasingly withdrawing myself from my daily swim in the news and podcasts. I'm not even familiar with Obama's mortgage program, despite the fact that I've been assigned to be one of the department's experts on mortgage finance. Instead, I have just been turning up the music on my daily commute and listening to more Radiolab (GOD SO GOOD!)
...I hadn't noticed that fact until just now.

I find myself listening to an album constantly until I am sick of it, then comeback to it in a couple weeks, although InRainbows i can listen to everyday.
Also you must have had a momentary lapse of shit music when I visited b/c all we listened to was Rhianna and Maxwell.
I can set you up an account on my server if you want to be able to upload and host songs. I have way more bandwidth and space than I can use.

Mango Pickle Dil River - Awesome. It's not that difficult is it?
N: SAMWELL SAMWELL SAMWELL NOT MAXWELL. I will never forgive you. And yes, that is the type of momentary lapse that I was speaking of.
I do the same with albums too, although I often don't cycle back. What albums are in your rotation now?

Jay, if you want any of N's albums, I have Bloc Party, LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, and TV on the Radio.
Bloc Party - awesome. The album N recommended is by their best...you might be tempted to try their latest release instead (Intimacy), which has some really incredible songs, but also has some awful, awful forays into Electronica.
LCD Soundsystem - not a huge fan, except for the track "Daft Punk is Playing at My House", which is not on that particular album, and which I do not have. However, if you get the opportunity to see them live, they are INCREDIBLE.
Arcade Fire - really, really good, but perhaps caters to that hipster crowd that you so hate.
TV on the Radio - I was really turned off of them when I saw them live a couple years ago, but I think it was mainly the sound system. It was so loud we couldn't hear anything but painful loudness. Supposed to be damn good, though. Haven't had the chance to really absorb their music.

Sweet, both to N and MPDR. Is it easy to just upload an entire folder to the FTP site, or do you have to do it manually?
Tha Carter III. hahahahaha.
You should be able to copy and paste whole folders. Unless it's like 50 huge files, in which case the connection could flake out and die on you.
