For example, Chinese LLMs cheat. Not that they are aware that they are cheating necessarily, but I think that the vast majority of Chinese LLMs cheat in some form or another, whether serious or minor. Whether it's typing 15 minutes after the exam has ended, openly discussing materials they are not permitted to share, passing on exam answers from one class to another, or whatever it may be...it's a constant and consistent pattern.
Example 2: LLMs speak more in class, and I was misled in corporations to mistake complex hypotheticals I didn't understand for substantively interesting questions. I noticed instead, that when asked direct questions about simple concepts, LLMs have the tendency to avoid the direct question by adding in tons of intermediary hypothetical facts that produce a long, complicated answer that has nothing to do with the concept at hand. Since I didn't know what a hedge fund and leveraged buyouts were in the first 5 weeks of my corporations class, I mistook these questions in class for deeper understanding. Not true.
Example 3: LLMs are full of shit. Boy. I could feel the bullshit up to my ears today in one of my classes when some of them spoke. The problem wasn't that they were bullshitting. It's that they were raising their hands and eagerly letting loose. I also have found myself dozing off through LLM mini-lectures about irrelevant social issues and their effects on society while the professor was trying to probe an abstract concept that we could later apply to facts.
Now, admittedly these kids are sharp. They're brilliant, they're hard working, they are hampered by language problems, and they obviously have some serious ability. I merely am adding the trait "annoying" to the list.
Finally, i just wanted to post this bad-ass picture. Say what you will about the North Koreans...but damn can they build a revolutionary monument!!
