Pigeon Dodging

Does anyone else ever involuntarily (or prudently, I shall say) dodge pigeons that appear to be flying straight for your face? Not often, mind you...but at least twice. I have the impression that "actual" New Yorkers suppress the dodging instinct.

I feel sorta stupid because it doesn't seem like the other people around me ever flinch, but sometimes I just do this split second head jerk limp wrist block when I suddenly notice a pigeon careening towards my face. The real art, however, is to quickly recover and act as if dodging the pigeon was the correct course of action.

Mostly because it was.
