Today is World AIDS Day. I think I posted some reflections on the day over the past few years...on the state of AIDS policy, or how I feel about the direction the epidemic is moving etc...but the honest truth is that I haven't been keeping up with it as closely as I used to...and all I would be doing is rehashing the things I've been thinking and carrying with me for the last 4 years rather than adding anything thoughtful or new.
In this situation all I'll say is this:
Please don't get the hiv. The epidemic is definitely not going anywhere, and the greatest conduit of transmission is believing that you're safe. I've seen enough to know that no one is safe - no one.
