No one will care...but...

I know that I am easily influenced by my classes. As I was super into con law last year, and I read financial stuff now because I understand the accounting of it...and now international trade law...but here's something very interesting that I found on the WTO website...

Historic Complaint For "History's Biggest Subsidy"
Six developing nations have lodged a complaint against the US, calling the Iraq War "history's biggest illegal trade subsidy" and "market distortion on a gargantuan scale." "In a free market, companies like Halliburton and Exxon should be funding their own market expansion projects instead of depending on their government for help," said a spokesperson for the consortium.

I'm gonna need to think about it some more...but that's a fascinating claim to make. (even tho my understanding of the WTO charter would probably allow this to fall under the "National Security" exception...which the dispute resolution body wouldn't dare to challenge and enforce for fear of destroying its political capital and legitimacy).
