Typically I don't get into "Man and his Acoustic Guitar" music all that much, but I somehow stumbled onto this random dude, Bon Iver, a couple of months ago (?) and decided to buy his album on iTunes. I was quite unimpressed the first few listen throughs, but as with almost all the music I end up becoming attached to, it grew on me and kept on creeping into my playlist until it became one of my dailies.
The basic story is that this dude was going through some rough times with his band, girlfriend, life...whatever...and then locked himself in a cabin in Wisconsin by himself for 3 months with an guitar and some ratty old recording equipment...and emerged with this album "For Emma, Forever Ago." Chances are 1) you will not click on these songs, and 2) if you do, you will not like it. (I actually think I've only had like one friend who shared most of my musical preferences...and I'm not sure why all of my music has tended to the entirely lighter side these days...except that I'm just trying to "quiet things down" internally these days.)
But...I figured posting this was better than reading about how to differentiate capital gains from ordinary income under §1221 of the Tax Code.
