I have to buy a new laptop (again.)
My Toshiba was a disaster.
My IBM turned into a fiasco (although it began with coffee).
Both are functional, but neither is reliable.
The question is this:
Should I get a Mac? Am I going to have any problems using my external hard drives? Or any sort of incompatibility problems with networks? Can I still easily watch all my windows media player stuff? If I want to download a program from a website like download.com or some warez or something, do I need to find specific mac versions, or are they all basically the same now?
Anybody? Everybody? Please?

GO FOR MAC!!!!
After using mine for over a year now, when I had to go back to PCs at my job over the summer, I was shocked at how shitty everything was. IE crashes all the time, Firefox still crashes a bunch, Windows freezes up, etc.
As for media, that was a big thing for me too. Fortunately I've spent the last year collecting every driver, program, etc. that you'll need to play all your Friends, Good Eats, etc. episodes. I also have tons of software for converting video, editing video, converting audio, ripping DVDs, burning DVDs, etc. All of which I can put on a DVD and give to you (or get to you in some other manner).
Finally, I've found that generally, you can find a Mac program for whatever you want to do (free money managing, downloady-fuckers, etc.). In general, however, I've found the programs written for Macs to be much better. Since having a Mac has been so cultish up to now, coders have taken a lot of pride in writing programs for them.
Anyway, my $.02. I say go for it (our cat fried SB's Dell about 6 months ago and I convinced her to get a Macbook. She still thanks me and vows never to go back).

1. Do what JAA says re computers.
2. Bix is having us do this Chinese journal thing. Its very confusing and in Chinese. But I have to know A.) Why is the apple smiling at this site:

B.) Chinese women scare me. See:

C.) Lastly, the Bix article has people lighting themselves on fire and poisoning themselves to protest Red Chinese policies on zoning. This, and I remember the Tin Man square guy, who even I'll admit was pretty courageous. But I thought that was a last resort type of idea. But it appears that people do that sort of thing if the price of stamps gets too high. Why is suicide the default protest method for Chinese people? I mean, would a fun email chain letter, or perhaps a prayer circle be a bit less painful?
I'm pretty sure your Toshiba being a disaster had nothing to do with it being a Toshiba, assclown.
If I were getting a new laptop, I'd be getting a Mac, but given your experience with computers, it would probably be nothing but trouble for you.
1) Apparently my computer problem is fixable. So a Mac will be in the future.
2) Rousseau: Bullshit. last time you offered to get something to me it took 2 years on top of the original year you already had possession. Only 7 from an adverse possession bitch.
3) Super Jew: Seriously? What the hell did you just say?
4) Hass: You're an assclown.
Damn, the smiling apple isn't there any more. Now answer my question about self - immolation. Is it a social thing?
P.S. Your brother called you an assclown. He is so much cooler than you.
p.p.s. oh wait, you called him an assclown. He called you a fagamatron. He's still cooler
No no. he called me an assclown, then in Towelie fashion, I promptly responded "You're an assclown."
As for Fagamatron...I don't even notice it anymore.
Towlie. Proves my theory that humans are able to accomplish more whilst high. Hey, you wanna get high?
I appreciate misspelling of Towel in that context. Bravo.
